Year 8 - Bowling Trip

Year 8’s enjoyed a day out today at the Sheepbridge Entertainment Complex. This was a reward for their good behaviour in the first term. Even though the weather was miserable outside the bowling alley was great fun and competitive. Thank you to the Sheepbridge staff for their hospitality. 😊

Music Department

Congratulations to the Year 8 string ensemble on their progress this first half term. They were all given a string instrument at the beginning of September and the progress has been amazing. The future is bright 🎶🎻🎼

LSC Music

It was a productive music class this afternoon with the boys from KS3 LSC. Each pupil composed a Halloween Rhythmic composition 🎶 and performed their piece on the Djembe Drum 🎃👻🎶

PIPS workshop

Class 8OC and Class 8SB took part today in the latest mental health and wellbeing support workshops as part of their PD course. Miss Sarah Hillen from PIPS provided important information and support advice to help pupils better understand ways of addressing sensitive issues such as anxiety, stress and mental fatigue. Arts and Crafts Workshop

PIPS Workshop

Class 8GR & 8BT took part in the first sessions of the mental health and wellbeing programme run by PIPS and part of their PD course. Miss Sarah Hillen led the interactive learning experience and covered sensitive yet important topics, helping pupils to be more aware of positive strategies in dealing with stress and mental anxiety. Further sessions are scheduled for later this term for the remaining year 8 classes. Mr Fearon

Well done to the Key stage 3 class who successfully composed and performed different rhythmic patterns this afternoon. 🎶


We would like to thank the Lyric Theatre for giving our Year 11 and Year 12 the wonderful opportunity to attend a performance called ‘Blackout’ followed by workshop to support our pastoral care programme in school. The boys and staff really enjoyed their morning!

A late goal and a point for St Patrick’s Banbridge edged out St Joseph’s 3-10 to 3-07 in today's Ulster Schools Nannery Cup group game. A very young Newry side, with nine year 9 students finishing the game! Hard Luck Lads, on to the next game. 💪
