Year 12 students from class 12BF participated in training for the school Paired Reading Programme. The training was delivered by literacy specialist Mrs Kate O’Hanlon, and the boys are now skilled in peer mentoring. They will work with a Year 8 class for approximately 8 weeks each morning, focusing on improving reading fluency and promoting supportive student peer relations. Many thanks to our wonderful Year 12 volunteers and Kate O’Hanlon for her knowledge, skill and infectious enthusiasm. Mrs Brannigan Head of English & Literacy Coordinator

In a Year 8 Science class, 8GR pupils made their own universal indicator from boiling red cabbage water and used it to test for acid and alkalis. They performed exceptionally well and their tests proved very successful resulting in a myriad of colours depending on the strength of the acid or alkali. Well done boys 👍 Mr Mulholland

We were delighted to open our new strength and conditioning room in school on Saturday 11th January during Open Day with the proceeds from our recent coaching event going towards the wonderful facility. We were delighted to welcome back former Down manager Pete McGrath, former Down player Ronan Murtagh, past pupil Current Glenavon player Caolan Marron and past pupil International Boxer Kane Tucker as special guests to officially open it. Thanks to Brendan Monaghan for the photos.
