Careers Department

Class 11KL visited PIPS today to learn about the work the charity does within the local community. Thanks to Martin Connell for delivering the session to the boys and giving them some background information on Mental Health and how we can help those who may need a helping hand. Thanks also to Maeve McParland for organising the session.

Gaelic News

Brilliant win for our team today against a Co Monaghan team. Thanks to photographer Mr Maurice McKey for taking the action shots. Phenomenal character from our Gaelic Footballers today, to make it three wins from three in their Danske Bank Mc'Evoy Cup group game v Oriel College of Monaghan. The game was played in wet and windy conditions and the boys left it late again, powering home with a goal and a point in the last five minutes to win 3-04 to 2-05. Jack Casey, Matthew Mc Laughlin and Reece Harte getting the all important goals.

Pastoral Care Programme

As part of our Pastoral Care Programme, we welcomed the Smashed Project to our school. This global education programme delivered by Collingwood Learning helped educate our KS3 boys on the dangers of underage drinking. The boys and staff really enjoyed watching the production and participating in the workshop.

Manchester Football Trip

55 Students and staff enjoyed a 2 day trip to Manchester. They where wrapped up warm under the floodlights of Old Trafford watching Manchester United v Club Brugge Game. Everyone celebrated the final score of 5-0. They also enjoyed an afternoon at Liverpool’s Anfield stadium. ⚽️

NIFRS Cadets

St Joseph’s wish to thank Thomas Craughwell from Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) for speaking to Year 10 students about the work of the Fire Service and joining the NIFRS Cadets. Application forms must be retur ned by Friday 10th April 2020.

Ready, Steady, Study

Many thanks to Paul Gray from Learn Spark for delivering the Ready, Steady, Study session to our Year 12 pupils today. The boys were exposed to some absolutely fantastic resources, tips and skills which they can now use to study for their upcoming examinations. Paul was fantastic in his delivery as usual.
