The Drama Department here in St Joseph’s Boys’ High is concerned with exploration of ourselves and the world we live in. Through themes such as Emotions, mime, conflict and status, poverty and bullying .We encourage pupils to look at their own lives and to empathise with others.

Our approach is based on encouraging ideas and creativity, helping students to make visual work from their observations and thoughts. Drama is a practical subject, aiming to facilitate and enhance performance and to appraise how well we have succeeded in realising our ideas.

Drama is taught once a week at Key stage 3.

In St Joseph’s Boys’ High, we celebrate the individuality of each student and simultaneously encourage them to work together collaboratively and co-operating to showcase each other's skills and talents. We present every child with the opportunity to be an artist.
