Our school offers a broad and balanced curriculum.


A wide range of Media and Non-Fiction Units are included within our KS3 English curriculum.


At the end of Year 10, students may select BTEC Media Studies as one of their GCSE options.


The course appeals to a variety of students, particularly those who are interested in ICT, Music, Drama and Art and Design. 


The school offers educational visits and workshops whereby students are given the opportunity to develop their practical skills within Media Studies, whilst building upon their theoretical knowledge of media.

BTEC First Award Creative Digital Media Production

  • Unit 1 – Digital Media Sectors and Audiences (external exam)

  • Unit 2 – Planning a Media production (Moving Image)

  • Unit 3 -  Creating a Media production (Moving Image)

  • Unit 4 – Digital Publishing


Units 2, 3 & 4 are internally assessed as coursework pieces.


This is an ideal course for anyone wishing to pursue a career within media, journalism, advertising, marketing or Business.
