Irish Week

St Joseph’s Quiz and Ceilí 

We had a fantastic afternoon completing the end of Irish Week in school. Year 8 & 9 pupils were joined by girls from St Mary’s High School and everyone participated in the quiz and dancing. The afternoon started with our traditional group and Year 9 ensemble group playing a number of Irish tunes to welcome everyone to the event. Special mention to St Mary’s Irish dancers Ruby Rose Doran and Katie Havern and musicians Nora and Georgia who joined the traditional group.

Mrs Gallagher awarded some teachers who made lots of effort this week using the Irish Language, Mrs Muckian, Mr Gallagher, Miss McQuaid and Miss McCaffery. 

A special mention to our two year 9 musicians Aaron Dunne Madigan (Accordion) and Nathan Cunningham (Guitar) who provided the music for the Ceilí and helped their form teacher Mrs Gallagher for all the dancing rehearsals over the last few weeks. 🎶👏

Mrs Gallagher thank you for a wonderful week of promoting the Irish Language and Irish Culture and organising an amazing afternoon and creating memories. 🇮🇪 ☘️
